Tom Conway-Gordon – Biography

Conway Gordon’s Founder, Tom Conway-Gordon has 20+ years of global reputation and public relations experience and expertise, gained from leading agency teams in London and across the Middle East.

Cutting his PR teeth in the corporate world with brands including General Motors, Western Union and Hewitt Associates, Tom’s first foray into issues and crisis was reputation management for the Port of London Authority at the time of Lord Justice Clarke’s Inquiry into the Marchioness Disaster, in 2001.

Since then, Tom has guided General Motors in the Middle East through the reputational threats of US Government bridging loans and eventual Chapter 11 bankruptcy, providing one on one consultancy, speech writing and training to the President and CEO throughout 2009. Tom was also global head of issues and crisis for Adidas, guiding the brand through various reputational challenges, including the threat and eventual impact of Covid-19 on the European football season and Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
Tom led the activation of the P&G’s Global Thank You, Mom campaign for the Olympic Games in London 2012 across the region and helped Mercedes-Benz to achieve record annual passenger car sales in consecutive years.
Tom has written speeches for now CEO and Chairman of the Management Board at Mercedes-Benz and several Middle Eastern Government dignitaries across the UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. From a training perspective, Tom has trained senior leadership from brands including Adidas, HP, Intel and Pepsico in media handling and presentation skills.
Leveraging his passion and knowledge of arts and culture, he has helped to communicate the enhanced cultural and touristic offerings of Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia, positioning their offering amongst key global stakeholders, forging partnerships and building advocacy.
Today, Tom works with Founders and CEOs of fast-growing companies, advising them on their growth strategies and how to leverage the power of strategic communications to enhance their reputation and drive engagement amongst key audiences, including target customers. From a High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth(UHNW) client perspective, Tom offers discrete and confidential counsel, and provides written communications where required and recommended.
